Find everything families need to prepare for the first day of school on Thursday, July 30, including school hours, kindergarten staggered-start dates, meals, buses, supply lists, calendars, and other important back-to-school information. Families of returning Kershaw County School District students—including families who completed their pre-kindergarten or kindergarten students’ initial enrollment this spring—will receive an email with their students’ registration codes and instructions to complete the online registration process on Monday, July 6.

High school students are encouraged to join in reading and programs with KCSD and the Kershaw County Library this summer. Read or listen to 3 books of your choice, return your log to school in August for a KCSD reading reward, and check for any honors summer reading assignments. You can also use Sora for free ebooks and audiobooks all summer long. Teens can join KCL programs like TTRPG, Adulting Fair, and Ahhh, Nature! KCSD’s end-of-year updates include half-days on May 21–22, graduation ceremony details, July registration dates and residency requirements, a new high school School-Based Health Center partnership, and the first day of school on July 30, 2026.

On Thursday, May 7, 15 seniors representing Camden, Lugoff-Elgin and North Central high schools participated in Kershaw County School District’s Annual Future Educator Signing Day. The event, hosted by KCSD’s Teacher Forum, celebrated students who have decided to pursue careers in the field of education.

Kershaw County School District is shifting to an e-Learning Day for Monday, March 16, as severe weather is forecasted for our area. All school buildings and offices will be closed. All Monday after school activities and sporting events are also cancelled.
